Oh horror shock, horses tails

Another little treasure has popped up in my garden, probably not every gardener would welcome this one.  Weeds of the worst sort.  But no there has to be a place for everything and I cannot but admire this plant that must have been around when the dinosaurs were around. This plant, according to Diosoride is astringent and stops bleeding noses.  It heals wounds and helps with heavy periods. So its a haemostatic plant.  It can also heal lungs that have been scarred. But best of all it can be used like emery paper to clean pewter  and silver  without scratching them.
